The Jensen A550 is the latest generation of wood chippers, featuring a Yanmar 37 hp Stage V diesel engine that meets new emission standards for exhaust gases. With a larger infeed aperture and more aggressive upper feed roller, the A550 can easily chip timber up to 200mm in diameter. Similar to the A540, the A550 comes with a safety bar and electronic safety sensors that allow for quick and safe machine shutdown.
The A550 Tracked Spider chipper is compact, agile, and highly maneuverable, making it one of the most versatile machines of its type on the market. It offers exceptional stability on bank-sides and can be controlled independently both vertically and horizontally, with adjustable tracks that ensure a compact stature even on steep slopes. The machine also comes with a 270-degree rotating chute, an integrated storage box, hydraulic infeed rollers, a fitted tool box with a comprehensive toolkit included, a control box to record hours and servicing intervals, and a galvanized steel chassis.
For those who require a road-towable option, the A550 is available in both in-line or turntable versions, with a single axle that can reach speeds of up to 80km/h and a fixed drawbar with towing eye or ball hitch. The tracked version features fixed tracks, hydraulic adjustable variable tracks from 900-1400mm (optional), an optional tilt bed, and a speed of 3km/h.
